Dane Tutty
Owner and Senior Tattooist
Dane was an apprentice tattooist at Downunder Tattoo in 2012 when the opportunity to purchase Downunder arose. Dane has been tattooing for over 15 years and is well known in the Newcastle area for his traditional tattooing but also for making sure you get not only the best tattoo, but also the best experience while you’re in the shop. Dane is open to most styles but prefers, traditional tattoo, black work
When he’s not working you can find him making music, playing with his 2 cats Potato and Crumpet or enjoying the sunshine with family and friends.
Emme Waddell
Senior Tattooist Emme has been tattooing for almost 20 years! They started their tattoo journey in Sydney and found their way to Downunder Tattoo in 2019. Emme is well known for their stunning fine line work, flora and fauna tattoos. Considered and delicate, but really Emme can do almost ANY style, they’re a true all rounder professional tattooist.
Kit De
Owner and Senior Tattooist
Kit spent his apprentice at Downunder tattoo back in 2006 and in 2026 he’s back working in the studio after spending years working between Newcastle and Sydney. Kit is known for his large scale Japanese work. Kit also travels yearly to Japan to learn the tradition of Tebori tattooing from a Sensei.
When Kit isn’t at work he loves spending time with his family and his dogs.
Blue Collar Benny
Apprentice Tattooist Benny started as a client of Dane’s when he was just 18, Ben spent years coming to Downunder to get tattooed before making the transition to apprentice tattooist in 2025. Ben spends half his time working in civil construction which plays a big part in the art he is interested in.
In his free time Ben loves diet coke, spending time with his gf and his cat Patchy.
